HCMC – The government of Tam Ky City of Quang Nam Province lifted the lockdown at Vuon Lai Market or Tam Ky Night Market in An Son Ward and a residential area in Quarter 2 of Phuoc Hoa Ward with a total of 350 locals this morning, August 25.

Though the lockdown was lifted, residents and traders living in the two areas were urged to continue following Covid-19 infection prevention and control measures strictly, including wearing face masks and washing hands with soap or sanitizers.

The Tam Ky government also asked 17 households with 54 people from the residential area in Quarter 2 and some 300 residents of the Vuon Lai Market area not to gather in crowds and hold parties post the lockdown, the local media reported.

Previously, the residential area and Vuon Lai Market had reported two Covid-19 cases linked to Danang City, leading to the 14-day lockdown.

Since July 25, Quang Nam Province has confirmed 96 Covid-19 patients and put a total of 14 residential areas in seven districts, towns and cities under lockdown. After 14 days, 12 residential areas had their lockdown lifted as the locals tested negative for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

Tran Van Tan, vice chairman of Quang Nam, told VnExpress that the province has reported no new Covid-19 cases for six consecutive days, proving that the disease is well under control in the province.
