HCMC – The central province of Quang Nam welcomed some 2.3 million tourists in the first half of 2022, a seven-fold year-on-year increase.
Among them, the number of international travelers totaled 91,000, a six-fold year-on-year increase, Le Tri Thanh, chairman of Quang Nam, told a meeting of the Quang Nam People’s Council on July 18.
The surge in tourist arrivals was attributed to the strong post-pandemic recovery of services and lodging facilities, the local media reported.
Revenue from tourism amounted to VND1.71 trillion in the first six months of 2022, 14 times higher than that in the same period last year.
Quang Nam’s tourism authority has been launching a slew of promotional programs and tourism activities to entice visitors, mainly domestic tourists, back to the province.
