REE plans 25% dividend payment for 2024

HCMC – Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation, whose REE shares are listed on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, will distribute a 25% dividend for 2024.

According to documents prepared for its 2025 annual general meeting, slated for April 1 in HCMC, REE’s proposed 2024 dividend includes a 10% cash payment and a 15% stock payment.

For 2025, the company is proposing a maximum cash dividend rate of 10%, pending shareholders’ approval. However, REE has yet to disclose its business targets for 2025.

In terms of financial performance, REE reported a 2% year-on-year decline in revenue to VND8.38 trillion in 2024. Meanwhile, its after-tax profit fell 14% to VND2.4 trillion.

Closing the trading session today, March 12, REE inched down 1.07% to VND73,800, with a matching volume of 557,900 shares.

The VN-Index added 1.87 points, or 0.14%, to close at 1,334.41 points at the close, as 189 stocks advanced while 272 others declined.

Trading volume and value improved slightly over the previous session with 942 million shares valued at VND21.94 trillion changing hands. Block deals accounted for 90.8 million shares worth VND2.4 trillion.

Vietnam’s stock market saw mixed movements among major stocks. VCB rose 3.09% to VND66,700 with 7.56 million shares traded. VHM surged 3.19% to VND46,950 on a trading volume of 15.64 million shares, while VIC remained relatively stable, up 1.69% to VND48,100 with seven million shares matched. Together, these three stocks contributed over five points to the VN-Index’s gain.

LPB also gained 1.88% to VND35,300, making it the third-largest rise in the VN30 basket and the second-best performer among banking stocks, adding 0.5 points to the main index.

On the downside, BID, GVR, FPT and HPG were the biggest drags on the market, collectively shaving off 2.4 points. GVR saw the steepest decline, down 1.8% to VND32,800 per share, followed by HPG (-1.24% to VND27,800), BID (-1.21% to VND40,900), and FPT (-1.16% to VND135,900).

Investor interest was strong in the securities sector, with three brokerage stocks ranking among the top five in trading volume. VIX was the most actively traded stock with 87.93 million shares matched, followed by VND with 63.06 million shares, and SSI with 26.79 million shares. VIX jumped 4.18% to VND12,450, while VND advanced 5.23% to VND15,100. SSI closed unchanged at VND26,700.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index added 1.29 points, or 0.54%, to 241.87 points, with 76 winners and 84 losers. Total trading volume reached 75.2 million shares valued at VND1.35 trillion.
