Road accident leaves three dead, 13 injured in central Vietnam

HCMC – A sleeper bus collided with a truck in the central province of Quang Nam in the early hours of today, February 21, leaving three passengers dead and 13 others injured, the local media reported.

The fatal incident occurred in Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam Province at 1:35 a.m. A sleeper bus with number plate BS 51B – 199.56 with Nguyen Anh Tien, aged 48, behind the wheel was traveling northbound on National Highway 1 when it rammed into the truck, which was parked for workers to unload bricks.

The bus was transporting 30 passengers when the road accident happened.

One person was confirmed dead at the scene, while two other people died when being taken to the hospital. Other 13 injured people are receiving medical attention at Quang Nam General Hospital, with three in critical condition.

The bus suffered severe front-end damage and the truck’s rear was badly damaged.

Traffic police cordoned off the scene for an investigation.

The site of this road accident is around three kilometers from where a 16-seat passenger bus and tractor collided last week on February 14, leaving 10 people dead and 11 seriously injured.
