HCMC – In order to share the difficulties facing frontline medical workers during the Covid-19 pandemic in HCMC, the Saigon Times – Great Circle program, an initiative of the Saigon Times Group, on September 9 cooperated with Bao Ngoc Investment Production Corporation to present gifts to the ICU Center for Covid patients, under the HCMC Medical University Hospital, in Binh Tan District and Field Hospital No. 12 in Thu Duc City.
Under the support of D’Furni Company to transport the gifts, 147 boxes of cake worth VND100 million were handed over to the frontline medical workers. Accordingly, the ICU Center for Covid patients, with 600 medical workers, received 85 boxes, while the field hospital, with 200 medical workers, was gifted 62 boxes.
Expressing his gratitude over the donation, Associate Professor Dr. Le Minh Khoi, deputy director of the ICU center, said that gifts from philanthropists and words of encouragement from the authorities acted as a stimulus for medical workers to continue doing their best to treat Covid patients.
Following the success of the “Saigon Times-Great Circle” program in 2020, the Saigon Times Group continued the program this year with the theme “Join hands to fight the Covid-19 pandemic” to support people affected by the disease.
The program receives donations from organizations and individuals and distributes them to the needy in HCMC and other provinces.
