Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens has introduced its first-ever night tour, offering visitors a rare glimpse into the nocturnal world of wild animals in a naturalistic setting.
The tour, titled “When the Night Falls”, takes place every Saturday evening in two sessions: from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Each group is limited to 10 to 20 visitors, aged between 10 and 65. Tickets are priced at VND200,000 per person.
Visitors are guided through areas where nocturnal animals, such as hyenas, leopards, tigers, water birds, and herbivores, become active after dark. Beyond wildlife observation, the tour also includes educational insights into the biological traits and behaviors of each species.
Organizers say the combination of natural surroundings and the ambient sounds of the night provides a new perspective on the century-old zoo located in downtown HCMC, according to the Saigon Tiep Thi news site.
Seafood vendor’s gift to aging delivery driver a healing moment
A short video showing a seafood shop owner in HCMC giving two lobsters to an old delivery man has gone viral on social media, with many people praising the kind and caring gesture, reported the Dan Tri news site.
The clip shows the man arriving at the seafood store to pick up an order. While waiting, he took out his phone to film the large lobsters in a tank. The shop owner, noticing his curiosity, asked if he had ever eaten lobster. He laughed, saying he had never even seen one up close and could not afford such a luxury.
He shared that he works as a security guard during the day and delivers food at night to support himself and his son, earning about VND300,000 daily before expenses. Touched by his story, the shop owner gave him a lobster, then added another after learning he had a son.
The woman in the video was identified as Nguyen Thi Thai, 30, who runs a seafood shop in Thu Duc City. Thai said she has often given seafood to others, but this time she asked for permission to film the moment as a personal keepsake. The video has since drawn a flood of positive comments, with many praising Thai for her kindness and calling the gesture “a healing moment.”

Taking hold of the crying kid from the father, Kha and his colleagues led the victims down to the ground safely. He returned the kid to her parents to the joy of everybody at the site.

Fisherman survives after 30 hours drifting at sea
On March 17, a fishing boat steered by Nguyen Van Cuong, 45, with Bui Sy Nhat, 48, Tran Van Huu, 30, and Le Tuan Anh, 25, on board, set sail from Van Hai Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province.
When fishing at a place 30 nautical miles from the shore, the winch on the boat malfunctioned and the captain decided to return home. At 3 a.m. on March 18, Huu found that the lower deck of the boat was full of seawater and its engine broke down. The boat sank so fast that the four fishermen could only cling to two floating wooden boards they found with neither life jackets nor water.
At daybreak, Huu was shocked to see he was alone at the cold, rough sea. He saw fishing boats approaching in sight twice, and he yelled for help to no avail. On March 19, he was found and rescued by fishermen on a fishing boat of Ha Tinh Province after nearly 30 hours drifting at sea. Exhausted, he was brought ashore and hospitalized on March 20. The local authorities and fishermen continued searching for the three other victims, dantri.com.vn reported.
