HCMC – After detecting three new Covid-19 infections in Tan Lam Huong Commune in Ha Tinh Province’s Thach Ha District, the province imposed social distancing in eight hamlets in the commune with 6,000 people and locked down the GMP factory of the Ha Tinh Pharmaceutical JSC.

The eight hamlets,–Trung Hoa, Thang Hoa, 17, 18, Nhan Hoa, Tan Tien, Binh Tien and Dong Tan–, started practicing social distancing in line with the Prime Minister’s Directive 16 from 7.00 a.m. today, June 9, the local media reported.

During the period, residents should refrain from going out except to buy food, medicines and other necessities, avoid gatherings and keep a physical distance of at least two meters.

Nguyen Van Chien, chairman of Cam Vinh Commune, where the factory under lockdown is located, said that the factory at which a Covid-19 patient works has some 100 workers.

Since June 5, Ha Tinh Province has reported 13 coronavirus infections, with eight detected in Ha Tinh City and five in Thach Ha District.

The latest cases are a 41-year-old woman and her two children. They were found to be infected with the coronavirus last night. Some 16 people who came into close contact with the woman were sent into mandatory quarantine.
