State budget revenue up 15% in Jan-May

HCMC – State budget revenue in the first five months of this year totaled over VND898.4 trillion, rising by 14.8% against the year-ago period and representing 52.8% of the full-year target, according to data from the Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry of Finance reported on June 5 that the State budget revenue in May alone reached VND151 trillion, below the monthly average of VND186.9 trillion in the first four months of the year.

In the January-May period, revenue from domestic sources was estimated at VND757.5 trillion, up by 16.8% compared to the same period in 2023.

Revenue from crude oil amounted to VND24.7 trillion, down by 5.5% year-on-year. Meanwhile, budget revenue from import-export activities was nearly VND116.2 trillion, up by 7.8%.

Total budget spending between January and May totaled nearly VND656.7 trillion, inching up by 0.5% year-on-year and reaching 31% of the full-year estimate.

Of this, investment expenditures achieved about 21.9% of the National Assembly-approved estimate, while regular expenditures reached about 36.6% of the estimate, an increase of nearly 2% compared to the same period in 2023.
