HCMC – Tan Son Nhat International Airport is set to accommodate 986 flights today, February 3, with nearly 146,500 passengers as large numbers of revelers are returning to the city for work as the Lunar New Year holiday ended yesterday.

The total includes 481 departures and 487 arrivals, with an estimated 91,993 departing passengers and 54,477 arrivals.

Although today’s figures represent a slight decline from Sunday’s 979 flights with 150,512 passengers, the highest during the Tet peak period, passenger volume remains elevated due to post-holiday travel demand.

During the Tet peak season, from January 14 to February 12—spanning the 15th day of the final lunar month to the 15th day of the new lunar year, the airport expects to serve over four million passengers. This includes 1.51 million international travelers and 2.5 million domestic passengers.

Daily flights are projected to average over 800, with peak days surpassing 970 flights.

“Compared to the same period in 2024, the total number of flights is expected to increase by 6.25%, while passenger volume is projected to rise by 5.36%,” said a representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
