Thirty new Covid-19 cases reported

HCMC – The Health Ministry has just confirmed 30 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday evening, with 27 locally-transmitted cases linked to the Danang coronavirus hotspot and three imported cases that were quarantined upon arrival in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

Of them, a 67-year-old resident of Danang died on August 5, becoming the country’s tenth Covid-19 fatality. She was confirmed as positive for the novel coronavirus on August 6, tagged as the 718th case.

Other Covid-19 cases as residents in the central city of Danang included five hospital patients, three caregivers, one medical worker and those having close contact with confirmed infected cases.

Besides, six patients aged between 30 and 51 were reported in neighboring Quang Nam Province, including two patients, one caregiver and three interacting with Covid-19 patients at Danang Hospital.

Another Covid-19 case is a Bac Giang resident, aged 7. She had close contact with previously confirmed cases of Covid-19 that had traveled to Danang.

The remaining three cases arrived at Vung Tau Port from Qatar on July 28 and were put in quarantine after arrival.

With these fresh cases, Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally has reached 747 cases to date, with 392 having fully recovered and 10 deaths.
