Three Covid-19 deaths in HCMC, one in Tien Giang reported

HCMC – The Ministry of Health this afternoon, July 14, confirmed three Covid-19 deaths in HCMC, while the steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control of Tien Giang Province reported one, all elderly patients with underlying illnesses.

An 87-year-old female patient in HCMC’s District 8 tested positive for Covid-19 on July 4 and was sent to the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases. She died on July 10.

The other case in HCMC was a 67-year-old man in Binh Chanh District. He caught the coronavirus from his son.

From June 17 to 27, while treated at the Binh Chanh Medical Center, he developed high fever, cough and shortness of breath. On June 27, he was transferred to the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases and died on July 10.

The third deceased in HCMC was a woman, aged 83, in Binh Thanh. On June 28-29, she had a fever and cough and tested positive for Covid-19 at the Binh Thanh Hospital. She was later moved to the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases, and then succumbed to the disease on July 12.

The deceased in Tien Giang, a 61-year-old woman in Chau Thanh District, took the province’s total Covid-19 deaths to four. She was taken to the province’s field hospital No. 2 on July 7.

Despite the treatment efforts of the medical workers at the field hospital, the Tien Giang General Hospital and support from the Cho Ray Hospital, she died on July 13.
