Three new imported cases of Covid-19 reported

HCMC – Three Vietnamese citizens returning home from overseas have been confirmed as fresh Covid-19 patients, sending the country’s tally to 1,144 as of this evening, October 21, according to the Health Ministry.

The three new patients were taken to quarantine facilities upon their arrival in Vietnam.

The first case, aged 46, is a local resident of north-central Thanh Hoa Province. She flew home from Russia through Van Don airport in Quang Ninh Province on October 16. She is under quarantine and medical treatment in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

The remaining cases include a 33-year-old mother and her eight-month-old son. On October 20, they arrived at the airport from Angola and were sent to a quarantine facility in Bac Giang Province. They are now being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi.

Among the nation’s tally, 1,046 coronavirus patients have fully recovered to date, while 35 other have died of the virus.
