HCMC – The Department for Roads of Vietnam has proposed implementing toll collection on six state-funded expressways.

The expressways include Mai Son–National Highway 45, National Highway 45–Nghi Son, Nghi Son–Dien Chau, Vinh Hao–Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet–Dau Giay, and My Thuan–Can Tho (along with the My Thuan 2 Bridge).

These expressways are already equipped with toll stations, collection systems, public service facilities at rest areas, and technical infrastructure supported by advanced technology systems for management and operations.

To utilize these existing facilities, the department has suggested commencing toll collection using the electronic toll collection (ETC) system.

The Department for Roads of Vietnam, along with regional road management boards, will oversee the entire toll collection process, including the deposit of funds into the state budget. Regular inspections will ensure transparency and proper use of the collected funds.

In addition to the six sections mentioned, Vietnam has six other state-funded expressways, including Hanoi–Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai–Kim Thanh, Cao Bo–Mai Son, Cam Lo–La Son, La Son–Tuy Loan, and HCMC–Trung Luong.

However, these are currently undergoing expansion, and toll collection will commence only after the upgrades are completed.
