Trafficker of 30,000 synthetic drug pills arrested in border province

HCMC – The border guards and police in the northern border province of Dien Bien arrested Quang Van Choi, aged 40, for trafficking 30,000 pills of synthetic drugs and some 50 grams of heroin on the morning of July 18.

Choi, residing in the Lao province of Phongsaly, admitted that he was hired by a woman living in the same village as his to traffic the amount of drugs from neighboring Laos to Vietnam to give to an unidentified person for receiving VND125 million. Besides, after the deal, Choi would be paid one million Lao kips along with a certain amount of drugs for his own use.

Choi was caught red-handed by the forces when he arrived in Pa Thom Commune, Dien Bien District, Dien Bien Province.

Earlier, the Dien Bien border guard forces busted a ring trafficking a large amount of drugs from Phongsaly Province to Vietnam.

The forces are investigating the case.
