HCMC – Auditor General Tran Sy Thanh will certainly become the new chairman of Hanoi City – the post which has been left vacant since Chu Ngoc Anh was arrested early last month for his alleged involvement in Viet A Technology Corporation’s price gouging of Covid-19 test kits.
Vo Van Thuong, member of the Politburo and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, yesterday, July 15, presented a Politburo decision appointing Tran Sy Thanh as deputy secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure.
Decision No. 567/QD-TW, dated July 14, 2022, said Thanh, a member of the Party Central Committee, will be introduced to the Hanoi City People’s Council for election to the post of chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee.
At the same time, Thanh was relieved of the post of Secretary of the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the State Audit Office of Vietnam.
