Twenty-eight students hospitalized in Khanh Hoa, food poisoning suspected

HCMC – Twenty-eight students in Khanh Hoa Province were rushed to the hospital with symptoms of food poisoning on April 9 after consuming food from a street vendor in front of a local school.

The local government said that many students at kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in Khanh Son District felt tired and showed symptoms of vomiting, abdominal pain, and frequent diarrhea in the morning after consuming rice balls and rice rolls from street vendors.

As of 3:00 p.m. yesterday, 28 students were admitted to the hospital. Following treatment, they are currently in stable condition.

The authority has collected food samples from the caterer for testing to determine the cause.

Four days ago, in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, there was another suspected food poisoning incident, resulting in 37 students being hospitalized. After four days of treatment, all students were discharged.
