HCMC – A total of 21 rest areas along the North-South Expressway, which extends from Hanoi to Ca Mau, are available for service during this holiday, averaging about 100 km between each stop.

The Department for Roads of Vietnam said there are currently five rest areas in operation along the North-South Expressway from Hanoi to Can Tho, including those on the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh section (operated by VEC), Cao Bo-Mai Son (Xuan Khiem on the left carriageway, Xuan Cuong on the right), La Son-Hoa Lien (left carriageway), HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau-Giay, and HCMC-Trung Luong.

One stopping point on the Danang-Quang Ngai Expressway has been put into service.

For rest areas currently under development, the department said investors have been selected and contracts signed for all 21 sites.

While the full rest area network has yet to be completed, 15 stops have been temporarily opened with essential public service facilities to meet travel demand during the April 30-May 1 holiday period.

These sites are located along the route from sections such as Mai Son-National Highway 45, Nghi Son-Dien Chau, Ham Nghi-Vung Ang, to southern stretches including Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet-Dau Giay, and Can Tho-Ca Mau.

Among them, four rest areas already have fuel stations: Mai Son-National Highway 45, Ham Nghi-Vung Ang, Vung Ang-Bung, and Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet. These are key refueling points for long-distance journeys.

A total of 21 rest areas and stopping points offering essential services are now in operation along the North-South Expressway from Hanoi to Ca Mau, with an average spacing of about 100 kilometers.
