HCMC – Kien Giang Province has put two new high-speed ferries into operation on the Rach Gia-Phu Quoc route.
Lightning 68-6 and Lightning 68-8 ferries measure 31 meters in length, and seven meters in width, and carry 250 passengers each. They are equipped with modern interiors and can cruise at 33 nautical miles per hour maximum.
According to Nguyen Van Manh, chairman and general director of Bien Son Company as the operator, the two ferries are part of a project to build a fleet of six high-speed ferries aimed at improving travel and tourism in the region.
Kien Giang Province now has around 30 high-speed ferries serving routes such as Rach Gia-Phu Quoc, Rach Gia-Hon Son-Nam Du, and Ha Tien-Phu Quoc.
