HCMC – The 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, will last seven days following the prime minister’s approval.

The traditional Tet will run from February 8 to 14, 2024, corresponding to the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the fifth day of the first lunar month.

Furthermore, the prime minister has also approved a four-day National Day holiday, which will last from August 31 to September 3, 2024.

For the New Year, state officials and employees will have three days off, from December 30, 2023 to January 1, 2024. They will have one day off to commemorate the death anniversary of Hung Kings on the 10th day of the third lunar month and two-day holidays for Reunification Day and International Labor Day, which fall on April 30 and May 1, 2024.

In total, state officials and employees will have 17 days of national holidays next year.

Expatriates working in Vietnam will also be entitled to a one-day break for the New Year holiday and an additional day off for the National Day holiday.
