HCMC – Van Thi Bach Tuyet, member of the Standing Board and head of the Organization Commission of the HCMC Party Committee, has been named as deputy secretary of HCMC Party Committee.
The HCMC Party Committee on September 15 announced the Politburo’s decision to appoint Tuyet deputy secretary of HCMC Party Committee in the current 2020-2025 tenure.
The announcement took place at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the HCMC Party Committee.
The event was attended by Tran Luu Quang, member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, along with leaders of the HCMC Party Committee and People’s Committee.
Tuyet, 48, a native of HCMC, began her career in youth organizations. She previously served as vice chairwoman of the Vietnam Youth Federation and deputy secretary of the HCMC Youth Union.
In July 2007, she was assigned to work in Hoc Mon District, where she served as head of the District Party Committee’s Propaganda and Education Commission, vice chairwoman of the district People’s Committee, and later chairwoman of the district People’s Committee.
In October 2014, when the HCMC Department of Tourism was established, she was appointed its first director.
Tuyet has been a National Assembly deputy for two consecutive terms, the 14th and 15th legislatures.
In September 2016, she became deputy head of the HCMC delegation of National Assembly deputies.
Since March 2024, she has served as head of the Organization Commission of the HCMC Party Committee.
With this appointment, the Standing Board of the HCMC Party Committee now comprises six members, including Secretary Tran Luu Quang and five deputy secretaries: Nguyen Van Duoc (chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee), Nguyen Phuoc Loc (chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in HCMC), Vo Van Minh (chairman of the HCMC People’s Council), Dang Minh Thong, and Van Thi Bach Tuyet.
