Vietnam, Belarus forge closer ties

HCMC – Vietnam and Belarus took substantial steps towards fortifying their diplomatic relations as Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko who is in Vietnam for an official visit.

In the meeting held at the Party Central Committee office in Hanoi today, December 8, the two sides expressed mutual appreciation for the enduring support that has characterized the relationship between the two nations.

Emphasizing the preservation of their longstanding friendship, General Secretary Trong highlighted the consistent collaborative efforts between Vietnam and Belarus, saying despite global uncertainties, both nations have maintained their traditional ties, particularly in areas like human resource development.

Expressing his appreciation for great support from the former Soviet Union, including Belarus, Trong urged Belarus to continue making conditions favorable for the Vietnamese community living in Belarus.

Prime Minister Golovchenko reaffirmed Belarus’s high regard for Vietnam as a leading partner in Southeast Asia.

He stressed the significance of party-to-party cooperation and said that he was confident in the continued success under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
