HCMC – Securities market regulators of Vietnam and China have explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation during a meeting in China, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

Vu Thi Chan Phuong, chairwoman of Vietnam’s State Securities Commission (SSC), met with Wu Qing, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), on November 25 as part of her working visit. Discussions centered on sharing experiences in securities market supervision and management, according to the SSC.

The SSC and CSRC have cooperated since 2005 under a memorandum of understanding that facilitates exchanges of market information, joint delegations, and technical support to strengthen regulatory frameworks.

With increasing participation by Chinese investors in Vietnam’s stock market, the SSC reaffirmed its commitment to creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from China.

The SSC also called for CSRC support in advancing digital transformation to improve securities market oversight.

Wu Qing noted structural and supervisory similarities between the two regulators and emphasized the importance of more frequent exchanges to deepen collaboration.
