HCMC – Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong has reaffirmed Vietnam’s determination to harness technologies for the achievement of net-zero emissions and sustainable development.

The statement came during the “Taking responsibility, taking action” conference organized by Dau Tu Newspaper under the Ministry of Planning and Investment on November 16.

Phuong emphasized the profound connection between green growth and sustainable development, with the former being a critical pathway to achieving the latter. He added that the Government has set forth ambitious objectives in the national socioeconomic development strategy for the 2021-2030 period, ensuring sustainability at the forefront of growth.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment plays a pivotal role in driving green growth in Vietnam by introducing crucial measures to facilitate the realization of sustainable development goals.

The nation is committed to prioritizing investments in vital areas like human resource development, science and technology, and innovation to boost productivity and advance green growth.

Vietnam is actively working to enhance its infrastructure systems to support socioeconomic development, strengthen environmental protection efforts, and effectively address the challenges brought by climate change.

Furthermore, the country aims to foster collaboration with regional and international partners to accelerate progress toward sustainable development goals.
