Vietnam has no critical Covid cases

HCMC – There are no Covid patients in intensive care in the country, while 17 fresh Covid infections were reported on January 20, according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry announced that 31 Covid patients fully recovered and were released from hospital yesterday, taking the total recoveries since the first outbreak to over 10.6 million, the local media reported.

No Covid fatalities were reported on the day. The country’s Covid death toll stands at 43,186, accounting for 0.4% of the total Covid infections.

Since the pandemic emerged in Vietnam, the country has reported over 11.5 million Covid cases, ranking 13th among 230 countries and territories.

Over 14,400 Covid vaccine doses were administered on January 19, raising the total doses given to people nationwide to 266 million.

The ministry asked healthcare centers to keep a close watch on the development of the pandemic, especially on new Covid variants, and proactively respond to the possible recurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
