HCMC – Vietnam and Iran will boost multi-faceted cooperation, including in economy, investment, and cultural exchanges, heard a forum on policies and legislation to foster ties between the two nations on August 9.
The forum, jointly organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran, and the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, took place during the ongoing official visit to Iran by National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
In his remarks at the forum, NA Chairman Hue underscored the flourishing bilateral relations between Vietnam and Iran, particularly in areas such as diplomacy, economy, culture, and mutual support.
The economies of both nations exhibit substantial potential to enhance their economic and trade cooperation, Hue said.
Hue emphasized the need for both sides to overcome challenges and expedite the realization of augmenting bilateral trade. He also urged the continuous improvement of legal frameworks to facilitate business cooperation between the two countries.
Hossein Selahvarzi, chairman of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, echoed the call for intensified efforts from both sides to drive economic and trade cooperation.
Pour Ebrahimi, chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s Economic Committee, reiterated Iran’s eagerness to amplify economic and trade ties with Vietnam, expressing hope that Hue’s visit would pave the way for a new phase in their bilateral relationship.
As a part of this visit, the two nations inked additional collaborative agreements, spanning cooperation between their legislative bodies, plant and animal quarantine measures, cultural and educational initiatives, and other sectors.
