Vietnam reports 17 new imported Covid-19 cases

HCMC – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 17 new Covid-19 patients who returned from Russia on September 26, taking the country’s tally to 1,094 as of tonight, September 29.

The patients, nine women and eight men, aged between 19 and 55, were quarantined in Bac Lieu Province after their arrival at Can Tho International Airport. Their samples were sent to the Pasteur Institute in HCMC for testing on September 28 and came back positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

Besides, eight Covid-19 patients made a full recovery today, raising the country’s total recoveries to 1,007 up to now.

Among the remaining active Covid-19 cases, 17 patients have tested negative for Covid-19 one to three times.

Over 15,800 people are being put under quarantine, with 270 people placed at local hospitals and over 10,600 others at concentrated quarantine centers.
