Vietnam reports six fresh Covid-19 cases in Danang, Hai Duong

HCMC – The Health Ministry has confirmed six new Covid-19 cases from community transmission this evening, August 24, with four in Danang and two in Hai Duong, bringing Vietnam’s tally to 1022 to date.

Among the four patients in the Danang coronavirus hotspot, a 68-year-old resident of the city’s Ngu Hanh Son District had her samples collected for Covid-19 testing on August 23 when she was shopping at Ha Than market in Son Tra District.

Two patients, including a 57-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, are health care workers at Danang Hospital.

The remaining case in Danang, aged 26, came into close contact with a previous confirmed Covid-19 case.

The two cases in Hai Duong City in the northern province of the same name had direct contact with their family members, who were earlier confirmed as positive for the novel coronavirus.

Of the total infections, 588 have fully recovered, 406 others are under treatment, while 27 have died so far.
