HCMC – Nearly 75,000 Vietnamese workers were sent abroad under labor contracts in the first half of this year, fulfilling more than 57% of the 2025 target.

Data from the Department of Overseas Labor under the Ministry of Home Affairs showed that 13,060 Vietnamese workers went abroad under guest labor contracts in June. Among them, 4,650 were women.

Between January and June, 74,691 Vietnamese workers took overseas jobs, including 25,617 women. This number equals 57.4% of the 2025 target of 130,000, building strong momentum toward achieving the full-year goal in the remaining months.

Japan remained the largest destination for Vietnamese workers in the first half of the year, receiving 35,240 workers. Taiwan ranked second with 28,206, followed by South Korea with 5,650.

These are traditional and stable markets with high demand for labor, good income, and decent working conditions – factors that continue to attract a large number of Vietnamese workers.

In addition to the traditional markets, several other destinations also recorded notable numbers of Vietnamese workers in the first half of the year, including China with 1,478 workers, Singapore with 1,100, Hungary with 572, and Romania with 400.

The continued positive results in these markets highlight the effectiveness of recent policies aimed at expanding market access and diversifying job sectors.
