Vietnamese, European firms clinch various deals, mostly in medical field

HCMC – Vietnamese and European businesses signed a number of agreements, mostly in the healthcare sector, at a ceremony held in Helsinki on September 11 under the witness of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue during his official visit to Finland.

T&T Pharmaceutical and Trading JSC, an affiliate of Vietnam’s T&T Group, signed an agreement with Germany’s Gerbion GmbH & Co. KG for technology transfer and production of RT-PCR Virella Covid-19 test kits in Vietnam. It also inked two other deals with Spain’s Mingothings S.L and Germany’s Avestos International GMBH for purchasing a total of 86 million euros worth of RT-PCR test kits.

Besides this, T&T signed another agreement worth some 375 million euros to conduct clinical trials of and purchase the HIPRA Covid-19 vaccine from Spain’s HIPRA Human Health S.L.U. Vietnam will be provided with 50 million doses of the vaccine under this deal. The two firms also signed a contract for Covid production technology transfer to Vietnam.

On the occasion, the Government of Slovakia presented 100,000 AstraZeneca Covid vaccine doses to Vietnam. Also, NG Biotech, a French innovative biotech company, donated one million Covid rapid antigen test kits worth five million euros to Vietnam and T&T Group donated one million Covid RT PCR test kits worth six million euros.

At the event, Ha Anh Equipment and Medical Material Co., Ltd., another Vietnamese firm, and Salofa Oy, a Finnish producer of healthcare products, signed a contract for exclusive distribution of rapid Covid test kits in Vietnam.

In addition, T&T Group signed a memorandum of understanding with the Malaysia-based JAKS Resources Berhad Group to develop a liquefied natural gas power plant in the northern province of Quang Ninh with a designed capacity of 1,500 megawatts and around US$1.5 billion in investment. The Vietnamese Group also clinched a deal with Solar Finland in producing and transferring production technology of new generation solar power panels and another one with Finland’s Finest Future on human resources education and training in sports and hi-tech agriculture and food processing.
