HCMC – Vietnamese and Indonesian businesses signed multiple cooperation agreements today, March 10, strengthening ties in green energy, digital transformation and real estate.
The agreements were announced at a business forum in Jakarta, which was held during the official Indonesia visit by Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam. The event marked the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and aligned with efforts to elevate their partnership to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
The deals span a range of industries. Vietnam’s VinFast partnered with Bank Negara Indonesia to develop long-term green financing solutions. Technology firm FPT Software signed agreements to advance AI and blockchain applications, including a deal with Indonesia’s national oil and gas company, Pertamina.
Sovico and Ciputra Group agreed to expand smart urban and industrial projects in both countries, while Vietnamese retailer Mobile World Investment Corporation increased its investment in Indonesia’s Erajaya to strengthen its presence in the local electronics market.
During the forum, To Lam encouraged Indonesian firms to invest more in Vietnam, highlighting opportunities in technology and renewable energy.
Trade between the two countries reached US$16.7 billion last year, up by 21.6% over the previous year, with a target of US$18 billion by 2028.
