HCMC – Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has arrived in Dubai to attend the 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) and engage in bilateral activities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

PM Chinh, accompanied by his spouse and high-ranking delegation, received a warm welcome on the evening of November 30 (local time) at the airport.

During his visit to the UAE, he is scheduled to participate in the World Climate Action Summit, deliver speeches at significant conferences, forums, and discussions as part of COP28, and hold bilateral meetings with leaders from various countries and international organizations.

He is expected to announce new initiatives and commitments on Vietnam’s part to collaborate with the international community in addressing climate change in the upcoming period.

He will also engage in bilateral activities with the UAE.

At COP26 in 2021, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh declared Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Vietnam and the UAE established diplomatic relations in August 1993. The UAE is Vietnam’s primary trade and investment partner in the Middle East, with average annual bilateral trade reaching around US$5 billion in recent years.
