Vietnam’s Covid-19 infections jump by 21, mostly in Danang

HCMC – The Health Ministry has confirmed 21 new cases of Covid-19, with 15 cases in Danang City and six others in neighboring Quang Nam Province, bringing the country’s tally to 642 as of this evening, August 3.

The ministry said that six Covid-19 patients in Quang Nam are linked to Danang Hospital, aged between 38 and 83. They included three visitors to the hospital, one patient who had been receiving treatment at the Renal Endocrinology Department, one caregiver and one having close contact with the 524th Covid-19 patient.

These six cases are being quarantined and treated at Quang Nam Central General Hospital.

Among the 15 cases in Danang, aged 20-78, two were caregivers, one case visited Gia Dinh Hospital in this central city for a health check-up, while the rest interacted with Covid-19 patients.

Since July 25, the number of locally-transmitted cases of Covid-19 related to the Danang coronavirus hotspot has mounted to 195.

Overall, of the total number of 642 Covid-19 patients in Vietnam, 373 have made full recovery, while six Covid-19 deaths have been reported so far.
