HCMC – Vietnamese carmaker VinFast and the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) on October 14 launched electric vehicle charging services at 10 gas stations of a total of 500 planned Petrolimex gas stations nationwide.

The first gas stations equipped with charging services are located in Dien Bien, Phu Tho, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Danang, Khanh Hoa, Tien Giang and Ca Mau.

The 60kW, 150kW and 300kW chargers meeting CCS2 standards are available at these Petrolimex gas stations, the local media reported.

Under the cooperation agreement signed by VinFast and Petrolimex in June, VinFast’s electric vehicle charging services will be provided at over 500 Petrolimex stations across the country in the 2022-2023 period.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Vu Thang, director of the VinFast charging station development center, said that the cooperation between VinFast and Petrolimex was aimed at promoting the use of clean and eco-friendly energy to create a green future for society.

Nguyen Sy Cuong, deputy general director of Petrolimex, said the partnership with VinFast on the development of charging stations in the 2022-2027 period matches Petrolimex’s strategic development plan from now until 2030 to gradually turn Petrolimex into a clean and green energy provider.

Apart from teaming up with Petrolimex, VinFast is working to build charging infrastructure and workshop service systems nationwide to meet the needs of electric vehicle owners.
