HCMC – The market surveillance forces in coordination with the police in Hanoi have seized nearly 60,000 rapid Covid test kits, 3,000 pharmaceutical products, and nearly 200,000 cosmetic products and supplements without invoices, said the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance today, March 15.

The forces yesterday raided a warehouse of the Hanoi Port area at 838 Bach Dang Street, Hai Ba Trung District, in the capital city, discovering 112 cartons of products for Covid prevention and treatment manufactured overseas.

At the time of the raid, the owner of the vehicles at the warehouse failed to show legitimate invoices and other documents for the entire batch of these products.

By 7 p.m. in the day, the forces completed procedures to transport the batch to the headquarters of a local market surveillance division to count the number of products the batch included.

As a result, they recorded nearly 60,000 rapid antigen test kits, with “Made in China” labels on the cartons. They also discovered over 3,000 pharmaceutical items and nearly 200,000 cosmetic products and supplements manufactured overseas. The batch is valued at over VND10 billion.

Vu Van Huyen, deputy head of the Market Surveillance No.5 in Hanoi, said this is the largest batch of anti-Covid products that the division and other competent forces have discovered and tackled since the beginning of the year.

The forces are working on the case and will transfer it to investigators if they discover any signs of violation.
