HCMC – The wreckage of a Yak-130 military trainer aircraft has been found at Yok Don National Park in Buon Don District, Daklak Province, reported local media.

The aircraft remains were discovered at around 2:20 p.m. on November 8, two days after the crash. Authorities are proceeding with an investigation to determine the cause.

Earlier in the day, hundreds of soldiers, locals, and militia members were deployed to comb the forest for the crash site. The air force joined the search effort, mobilizing several vehicles and aircraft to assist.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the Yak-130 took off from Phu Cat airport at 9:55 a.m. on November 6 for a training session. The pilots later reported a failure in the aircraft’s landing gear, and despite emergency efforts, they were unable to resolve the issue.

Following a report to the flight commander, both pilots were authorized to eject, which they did successfully at 10:51 a.m. in the TB2 shooting range area, Tay Son, Binh Dinh Province. Both pilots were safely recovered the same night.
