HCMC – Seven components of the Eastern North-South expressway project in the 2017-2020 period, with a total length of 411.6 kilometers, will be opened to traffic this year.
The Ministry of Transport has urged relevant units to speed up work and complete the seven subprojects this year. They are Mai Son-National Highway 45, Vinh Hai-Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet-Dau Giay, National Highway 45- Nghi Son, Nghi Son-Dien Chau, Nha Trang-Cam Lam and My Thuan 2 Bridge.
Two other subprojects of the 11 components of the 653-kilometer-long expressway project, including Cao Bo-Mai Son and Cam Lo-La Son, have been put into service.
The two final sections of the project, Cam Lam-Vinh Hao and Dien Chau-Bai Vot, with a total length of some 128 kilometers, will be completed in 2024, the local media reported.
As for the 721.2-kilometer North-South expressway project in the 2021-2025 period, all the 12 subprojects under the expressway got off the ground on January 1 this year, said the ministry.
The entire 1,400-kilometer expressway is slated to be opened to traffic in late 2025.
