HCMC – Work on the long-awaited project of the Chon Thanh-Duc Hoa Road that links Binh Phuoc and Long An, has been scheduled to restart this year, following its suspension in 2011.
The projected road is over 72 kilometers long, with a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and is part of the Ho Chi Minh Highway.
It requires an estimated investment of around VND2,293 billion, of which the State budget will account for VND2,178 billion in the 2021-2025 period and VND115 billion in the 2026-2030 period.
Work on the project started in 2009 and was suspended in 2011 due to the Government’s decision to scale down public investment.
The Ministry of Transport issued a decision in July 2022, approving the resumption of construction in 2023 and setting a completion deadline of 2025.
Recently, the ministry has requested the Project Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Road project to urgently direct relevant units to complete the feasibility study, compensation and resettlement policy, and other procedures to restart the project this year.
