Catering service providers in HCMC allowed to offer takeaway services

Must read

HCMC – The HCMC government has allowed small restaurants, eateries and coffee shops in the city to resume takeaway services from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day after two months of suspension.

The easing of restrictions on catering service providers signals further freedoms down the road for the city’s economy and the people’s livelihood. Earlier, after banning restaurants and eateries from offering on-site services, the city on July 9 banned takeaway services as well to prevent the gathering of shippers at restaurants and eateries.

Besides catering services, the city has also allowed providers of postal and telecom services, office IT devices and school stationery to operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They must apply the stay-at-work mode and offer delivery services. Shippers must be employees of tech-based delivery firms.

They must also register their operations with the district governments to be issued travel passes.

Their employees must have received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose and test negative for Covid-19 every two days.

Chairpersons of districts are assigned to direct and supervise the wards, communes and towns licensing the reopening of units.

The city has now also allowed supermarkets, groceries, food outlets, medicine and medical equipment producers and traders to stay open until 9.00 p.m. daily instead of 6.00 p.m. Shippers are permitted to work from 6.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. to ensure the delivery of sufficient goods and food to the city’s residents.

In addition, current travel passes would be valid until September 15.

The municipal government also asked chairpersons of districts 7 and Cu Chi to formulate plans to allow residents in the districts to go shopping once a week and submit the plans to the city before September 11.

The city also reopened two goods transit points at the Binh Dien and Hoc Mon wholesale markets and maintained the point at the Thu Duc wholesale market to sufficiently supply goods to the city.
