State workers in HCMC allowed to commute without travel permits

Must read

HCMC – The HCMC police have proposed allowing civil servants and public employees to commute from 6.30 a.m. to 8.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. every day without a travel permit.

Before stepping out, they must declare their travel purpose on the mobile app VNEID, while anti-virus forces at checkpoints must carefully check their work ID cards, according to the proposal issued by the HCMC Police Department on September 22.

The civil servants and State workers must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, while their residences should not be located in areas under lockdown.

As for people who need to commute during other time frames, they still have to show a travel permit.

The HCMC police asked agencies and units to make a list of employees who will work at their headquarters and send it to the department to make monitoring easier.

Speaking about the control over commuters from now until September 30 at a press briefing on the same day, Huynh Quang Tuyen, deputy head of the HCMC Police Department’s advisory division, said that the police of the city’s districts continued to maintain operations at coronavirus checkpoints, but assured that people in groups permitted to go out could travel.

Tuyen also said that the districts must set up patrol teams to check the travel purpose and impose sanctions on those who violate travel restrictions.
