HCMC – Mastercard and Vietnam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) have announced the continuation of their philanthropic initiative, “Nurturing Hope, Empowering Futures,” which aims to improve educational access for children in Vietnam’s mountainous regions.
First launched in 2023, the initiative addresses the challenges of limited access to schools and basic infrastructure in these remote areas. Through collaboration, Mastercard and VPBank have supported schools and enhanced educational opportunities for underserved children.
The second phase of the program kicks off with the Mastercard Kids Run in October 2024. The 600-meter race, scheduled for October 12 on Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street, expects over 500 participants aged 5 to 10.
Throughout October and November 2024, Mastercard will contribute VND7,100 for every VPBank Mastercard debit or credit card transaction exceeding VND300,000.
These funds will be directed through the Vietnam Charity Fund to support “The Loving Leaves” program, which will assess needs in underserved areas and connect them with the initiative for school construction or renovation.
