HCMC – Dong Nai City is set to begin construction in June on three key infrastructure projects leading to Long Thanh International Airport.
According to the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the three projects are roads 769, 773 and 770B, which require an estimated VND18.5 trillion, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.
The three roads are designed for maximum speeds of 80 kilometers per hour. Road 769 is scheduled for completion in 2027, while roads 773 and 770B are expected to be completed in 2028.
The projects received investment approval in 2021 but faced obstacles related to planning and land acquisition. Authorities said the issues have now been resolved and agencies are accelerating site clearance and procedures to select construction contractors for all the three projects before June 30.
The projects are expected to shorten travel times from localities in Dong Nai to Long Thanh airport and ease traffic pressure on National Highways 1A, 51, 56 and 20 passing through the province.
The projects will also improve connectivity within the Bien Hoa–Long Thanh–Trang Bom–Nhon Trach–Cam My industrial corridor, supporting socio-economic development in Dong Nai and the southern key economic region.
In addition to the three projects, Dong Nai is expected to start construction on eight more major transport projects in the third and fourth quarters of this year, with total capital estimated at VND137 trillion.
These projects include HCMC Beltway No. 4, the extension of Metro Line No. 1 to Tran Bien Ward and Long Thanh airport, Cat Lai Bridge, road 769E, the road linking Ma Da Bridge to Beltway No. 4, road 768B, Bui Van Hoa Road, and the Trang Dai–Tam Hiep inter-ward road.
