HCMC – Construction of the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line in Hanoi is over 50% complete for its underground section, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The package covering tunnels and underground stations has reached 50.2% of its planned progress, while the overall project is 80.3% complete.
The above-ground sections, including stations and depots, are largely finished. However, work on the underground sections, particularly railway systems and ticketing, is still ongoing.
Delays in coordinating contractors’ efforts and mobilizing foreign equipment suppliers have posed challenges, affecting the project’s timeline.
Despite these hurdles, over 625 meters of the first tunnel have been completed, and a second tunnel boring machine is expected to start operations in early January 2025.
The Nhon-Ga Hanoi metro line is a vital component of Hanoi’s public transport infrastructure. Its 8.5-kilometer above-ground section has been operational since August 8.
