HCMC – Truong Huy San has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for posting 13 articles on his Facebook account, Truong Huy San (Osin Huy Duc), which were deemed to infringe upon the interests of the State.
The Hanoi People’s Court handed down the verdict on the morning of February 27.
San, a 64-year-old resident in HCMC, was convicted under Clause 2, Article 331 of the Penal Code for “abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, as well as the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.”
The trial took place nine months after his arrest.
According to the indictment, between 2015 and 2024, San collected information and documents, wrote, and posted multiple articles on his Facebook page.
Thirteen of these articles were found to contain content that violated regulations on protection of the interests of the State, and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.
