HCMC – The Danang government on July 29 issued a decision suspending the operations of online and takeaway restaurants, eateries and cafes from 1.00 p.m. today, July 30, due to the spike in local Covid-19 infections.
The move is aimed at intensifying social distancing measures to effectively prevent the coronavirus, which causes the Covid-19 disease, VnExpress news site reported.
Few days ago, when the city issued an order on social distancing, food stores, eateries, restaurants and cafes were allowed to sell their products online or offer takeaway services. However, some residents flouted the social distancing rule and were still gathering at some stores. As such, the municipal government imposed this suspension.
The city also asked workers at construction sites to regularly wash their hands, wear face masks and maintain a safe physical distance of at least two meters, while districts and wards were tasked with strictly monitoring and checking the health of residents at residential areas and boarding houses.
