HCMC – The Ministry of Construction has urged the Hoai Nhon-Quy Nhon Expressway investor to speed up construction work to ensure the road will be technically opened to traffic by August 19.
Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung has led a delegation to inspect the construction site of the Hoai Nhon-Quy Nhon section of the North-South Expressway in Binh Dinh Province, according to the Government news site.
Project Management Unit 85 reported that key construction items are being accelerated, with nearly 72% of the contract value completed. Capital disbursement for 2025 is on track and expected to finish as scheduled.
The Ministry of Construction has instructed the project investor to closely monitor construction, support contractors in mobilizing sufficient resources to speed up progress, strictly control quality, and ensure the route opens to traffic on August 19 without compromising standards.
With some contractors lagging behind schedule, the Deputy Minister has instructed Project Management Unit 85 to reassign workloads to more efficient contractors to keep the project on track.
The 70-kilometer Hoai Nhon-Quy Nhon section of the North-South Expressway passes through Binh Dinh Province, and requires a total of more than VND12.4 trillion.
Construction began on January 1, 2023, and the project is expected to be completed by September 30 this year under the revised schedule.
