HCMC — Dong Nai Province is looking for investors for five major infrastructure projects, including an extension of HCMC’s Metro Line No. 1 to Trang Bom District, with a combined estimated cost of nearly VND100 trillion, reported the local media.
The proposed 20.7-kilometer metro extension would run from the Suoi Tien Bus Station in HCMC to a depot in Ho Nai 3 Commune, Trang Bom District. The project requires an estimated VND34.7 trillion and would be financed through a mix of central government funding, provincial budget, build-operate-transfer (BOT) capital, and land value capture.
The province is also planning investment in a 45.5-kilometer section of the Beltway No. 4 passing through Vinh Cuu, Trang Bom, Thong Nhat, and Long Thanh districts. The route will feature eight express lanes, eight-meter-wide service roads, and seven-meter sidewalks on each side.
The first phase will include four lanes and a roadbed width of 25.5 meters, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Investment for the initial phase is estimated at VND24.8 trillion, excluding interest costs, under the public-private partnerships (PPP) model.
Another project involves a road connecting Ma Da Bridge to the Beltway No. 4 intersection in Vinh Cuu District, improving connectivity between Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces. The first phase will include a four-lane road and a new bridge, with a total cost of VND11 trillion, under the PPP format.
Dong Nai is also calling for investment in a new bridge to replace the Cat Lai ferry in Nhon Trach District. The bridge would have six motor lanes and two mixed-use lanes. The project is expected to cost VND19.4 trillion under PPP.
The fifth project is a new 105-hectare political-administrative center in Bien Hoa City. The complex will include government offices, a conference center, a square, a stage, a boat dock, and areas for urban services, education, healthcare, commerce, and housing. The project is estimated to cost VND6.8 trillion through a combination of public funding and PPP.
According to the Dong Nai People’s Committee, the metro extension, Beltway No. 4, and Ma Da–Beltway No. 4 road have been listed as priority projects under a prime minister’s decision. The Cat Lai bridge and administrative center are also eligible for investment promotion under current planning regulations.
