HCMC – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam arrived in Phnom Penh on the morning of February 6, beginning a state visit to Cambodia, the final stop of his current overseas tour.
At around 7 a.m. on February 6, General Secretary To Lam and a high-level Vietnamese delegation departed Vientiane, Laos, for Cambodia. The visit is made at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia.
During the visit, To Lam will co-chair a high-level meeting between the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party, at the invitation of Cambodian People’s Party President Hun Sen. He will also co-chair a meeting among the leaders of the ruling parties of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. All official activities in Cambodia are scheduled for February 6.
The official delegation includes Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, along with senior Party and Government leaders, including Politburo members and heads of key central agencies and ministries.
This is To Lam’s first state visit to Cambodia in his capacity as Party General Secretary, and his first visit to the country following the 14th National Party Congress.
