Vietnam reports no new Covid-19 infections this morning

Must read

HCMC – Vietnam has not recorded new Covid-19 patients on Sunday morning, April 5, keeping the country’s total confirmed cases unchanged at 240, said the Health Ministry.

Among the current tally, 149 cases were categorized as imported, including foreigners entering Vietnam and returning Vietnamese citizens, and 61 others are locally-transmitted cases.

Besides, 90 Covid-19 patients have made a full recovery and been released from hospital, with the four latest cases being discharged in HCMC on April 4, while the remaining 150 cases are active.

As shared by the health ministry yesterday evening, the good news is that the most critically ill patient, known as the 19th case, has stopped using Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine after more than two weeks being put on it. She has tested negative for the flu-like virus three times and her health has improved a lot.

ECMO is a life support machine which allows patients’ lungs and hearts to improve and function properly.

The 19th patient was suffering from vestibular disorder as an underlying health condition. The 64-year-old woman in Hanoi contracted Covid-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, from her 26-year-old niece N.H.N., the country’s 17th Covid-19 case.

A few days ago, three other seriously ill patients went through life-threatening stages and managed to cut their reliance on mechanical ventilation. Also, two of them had tested negative for the virus for three times.
