HCMC – The southern province of Dong Nai has allowed karaoke lounges, dance clubs, spas, massage parlors, bars and game shops to resume operations at 50% capacity starting today, January 28.

Besides, the authorities will no longer impose limits on large gatherings such as events, funerals, wedding parties; religious activities; cinemas, hotels, art and cultural performances, or sports events. However, visitors or participants must practice anti-virus measures.

Partially vaccinated people have been recommended to only venture out for essential purposes such as emergency healthcare services and in case of disasters or fires.

Traveling is restricted for people to/from areas at extremely high risk of Covid transmission or localities that reported locally-infected Omicron cases.

Regarding education, local schools were told to continue virtual learning for one more week from February 7 to 12 after the Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet. On February 14, local schools are allowed to switch to in-person learning.

As for its vaccination update, Dong Nai has administered over six million Covid vaccine doses to date. The first-dose vaccination rate in the province has reached 103%, the second-dose rate was 99.4%, and the booster-shot rate was 17.6%. The province has also completed vaccinating those aged 12-17.

Earlier, HCMC, which borders Dong Nai, allowed karaoke lounges, bars, dance clubs and massage parlors in the city to reopen on January 10.
