HCMC – The Saigon Times Group, in collaboration with the HCMC Blood Donation Center, organized a blood drive this morning, October 29, attracting about 250 local and foreign donors.
The Saigon Times Blood Donation Day 2021 took place at the Saigon Times Group’s headquarters at 35 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, District 1, HCMC. It was aimed at coping with the chronic blood shortage in the country.
The blood drive also marked the 30th anniversary of The Saigon Times Weekly (October 10, 1991 – October 10, 2021) and the 26th anniversary of The Saigon Times (October 2, 1995 – October 2, 2021).
According to the organizer, around 250 units of blood from some 220 donors, including foreign diplomats, leaders of business associations, staff of foreign-invested and local businesses, civil servants, and Saigon Times Group staff, were collected at the blood drive.
The event was successfully organized thanks to the sponsorship of BASF Vietnam and Louis Holdings. It also received generous support from Digital Transformation ADT JSC, Breadtalk Vietnam, La Vie, O Long Tea Plus Brand and Tan Hiep Phat Group.
To ensure safety, the donors and organizers had to comply with anti-pandemic measures such as wearing face masks, using hand sanitizers, and filing health declarations.
